When Safety is a part of the culture, attitudes reflect safety, and actions reflect attitude.”

Life Safety

GH Schuller & Associates' expertise is derived from our combination of healthcare facility operations knowledge and experience.  We provide leadership in training, hands-on evaluation, creating insight, and developing repeatable and sustainable processes.

Our understanding of NFPA, IFC, IBC, CMS and Joint Commission standards and requirements creates an environment of knowledge.  Applying that knowledge through training and mock or simulated surveys and key process improvements provides a foundation for your success.

Our Life Safety Code specialist focuses on compliance with the Life Safety Code (LSC), the Statement of Condition (SOC), medical gas system requirements and Environment of Care standards. We work with facilities, safety, and engineering managers on ensuring that effective processes are in place and that resulting documents adhere to the standards.  These may include training documents and schedules, Fire Safety Management Plans, documentation of repairs, maintenance, and periodic shut downs.  Also we work to identify process gaps and establish employee Life Safety training.

Our Life Safety Training objectives include:

  • Understanding the basic requirements of the LSCs for health care facilities
  • Understanding how the JC's Life Safety Code requirements tie into the EC processes
  • Insight into the JC's survey process, the LSC building tour and assessments
  • Positioning your facility for success through process evaluation and management.

We offer comprehensive life-cycle services as well as specialized services.  And because our experts are familiar with fire science, engineering, and code issues, our results save both time and money.  In a construction or reconstruction environment, the accreditation requirements are still in force.  Our consultants will help you achieve successful Joint Commission compliance for those projects at economical costs, and reduce problems in the areas of design, bidding, permitting, and construction.
